Terms of Service
Last updated: August 27, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bass Remover — Play Along application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service Description
Bass Remover is an iOS application that removes the bass part from an audio file you supply, returning the same recording with the remaining instruments and vocals intact. Separation is performed by the Demucs v4 machine-learning model running on third-party GPU infrastructure — your audio is uploaded for processing and is not processed on your device. See the Privacy Policy for exactly where your files go and how long they are kept. The App additionally provides practice controls for the returned mix: A/B section looping, tempo reduction from 100% down to 50% with the pitch preserved, A/B comparison against your original file, a local practice history, and export to MP3 or (on Premium) WAV.
2. Important Limitations
Bass Remover is a source-separation tool, not a guaranteed studio-quality result. You understand and agree that:
- Separation is statistical. Some bass content may remain, and the removal can leave audible artifacts in the remaining mix — most often on dense, sub-heavy, live, or heavily compressed recordings.
- Output quality depends on the source recording. A low-bitrate or already-degraded file will separate less cleanly than a high-quality one.
- Bass-adjacent content — kick drum, low synths, baritone vocals, upright bass in a jazz mix — may be partly affected, because these overlap the frequency range and character of the bass part.
- Processing requires an internet connection. Files must be 50 MB or smaller and 12 minutes or shorter.
- Processing times are estimates, not guarantees, and depend on third-party GPU availability.
- The App is not a replacement for a professionally produced backing track or for studio stem separation.
3. Music Rights & Acceptable Use
Bass Remover is intended for personal practice with music you already own or otherwise have the right to use. The App provides no music catalogue, no search, no streaming-service import, and no way to publish or share a library of processed tracks. You supply your own files.
You agree that you will:
- Only process audio that you own, have licensed, or are otherwise legally entitled to reproduce
- Use the resulting files for your own private practice, rehearsal, study, or performance preparation
You agree that you will not:
- Distribute, publish, upload, stream, sell, or commercially exploit a processed track, in whole or in part, where doing so would infringe the rights of the copyright owner
- Present a processed recording as your own original work
- Process audio obtained through circumvention of a streaming service's protections or terms
- Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions, free-tier limits, or per-device quotas, including by repeated reinstallation
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or automate access to the App or its backend API
- Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights
You are solely responsible for your rights in any audio you process and for how you use the result.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
- Free tier: No charge and no account. 2 tracks per month (with a limit of 1 per day), at full length, with no watermark, including the loop and tempo practice controls and MP3 export. Your last 3 tracks are kept in History. The quota resets on the 1st of each month. Jobs that fail or are cancelled do not count against it. There is no advertising on any tier.
- Premium Monthly: $4.99/month. Unlimited tracks subject to fair use (see below), HD separation, lossless WAV export, and unlimited practice history.
- Premium Annual: $29.99/year (save 50% vs. monthly), with a 7-day free trial. Same Premium feature set as monthly.
- Fair use on Premium: "Unlimited" is subject to a fair-use ceiling of 40 tracks per month. Every job consumes real GPU time, and we would rather state the limit plainly here and in the App's Settings than throttle you silently. If you regularly need more, contact us.
- Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If you cancel during a free trial period before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers retain their original price for the remainder of the active term.
5. User Content & Retention
You retain all rights you hold in the audio you upload. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to it beyond what is strictly necessary to run the job you requested. Uploaded originals are hard-deleted within 24 hours; processed results are hard-deleted after 7 days; and "Delete my uploads" in Settings removes both immediately. We do not listen to, review, index, or train any model on your uploads. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose. The App relies on third-party machine-learning models and open-source components, each governed by its own licence; these are licensed for use within the App only and may not be extracted or redistributed.
7. Service Availability
Because separation runs on third-party infrastructure, the App's core feature depends on services outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may suspend processing for maintenance, capacity, cost, or abuse reasons. Where a paid subscription is materially affected for an extended period, contact us and we will address it directly.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT SEPARATION RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR A SPECIFIC RECORDING.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Audio quality of processed outputs, including residual bass or separation artifacts
- Any claim arising from your use or distribution of a processed recording, including copyright claims
- Loss of a processed result after the retention period has elapsed
- Processing failures, delays, or outages caused by third-party infrastructure
- Subscription-related charges that fall under Apple's billing policy
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, including any claim relating to audio you upload, process, or distribute.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business — including quota abuse and infringing use.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
